In Quetta Balochistan budget worth
Rs289 for next financial year will be presented in the Provincial Assembly
this afternoon. Chief Minister Nawaz Sanaullah Zehri will present the finance
bill in the Balochistan Assembly. The assembly session will start at 4:00pm.
According to reports, Rs60 billion will be allocated for development project in
the next fiscal year, while over Rs40 billion for education department. The
health sector will receive Rs18 billion. The government plans to propose some
mega development schemes for Quetta such as Greater Quetta Programme, Quetta
Bulk Water Supply Scheme, Railway Mass Transit scheme and Quetta’s Green Bus
scheme. Meanwhile, the allocation of funds for MPA scheme has been suggested to
be slashed to half. In the budget document, government aims to propose 10%
increment in the salaries and pensions of the public sector employees. Some
allowance will also be included in the basic salaries of the employees. On
overall, the budget 2016-17 will have a Rs25 billion difference between income
and expenditures. This deficit will be met by obtaining local loans.
