Pakistani artists demand security after Amjad Sabri's murder in karachi

In Karachi  Several artists demanded security for themselves following the cold blooded murder of famed Qawwal Amjad Sabri earlier this week.
Led by pop singer Fakhr-e-Alam several television celebrities filed a request at the Darakshan Police Station on Saturday requesting the government to provide everyone to  security.
Speaking to Geo News Fakhr-e-Alam said that the artist community was shocked at the murder of Amjad Sabri. "If any other artist is attacked now, the government will be responsible."
He said that the government had earlier said that Amjad Sabri had not informed them about any threat. "We are all threatened. We are letting you know. So please provide us security."
Actors Maria Wasti and Faisal Qureshi, Zeba Bakhtiar accompanied him.
Earlier a video by the same actors went viral on social media.
In the video Fakhr-e-Alam said that if government officials are 'high profile targets' so are artists. "If government officials can have bullet proof cars and police escorts artists demand the same treatment. And if the government cannot provide us police escorts, then please return your own escorts so that we have the satisfaction that we are as vulnerable as your are on the streets of Karachi.
